No. No account, sign-up, or login is required. Install the extension and it is ready to use.
ClickMic does not send your audio to Astrolabe Tools. Speech recognition runs through Chrome's Web Speech API. When you speak, Chrome may send audio to Google's speech recognition service. ClickMic only receives the recognized text from the browser.
ClickMic works on sites with standard text fields, including various AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and others), email services, and online documents. Some sites may block the microphone because of browser or site restrictions.

All dictated text (including favorites and reminders), as well as settings, stays on your device. ClickMic contacts our servers only to verify trial and Pro status, download optional characters, and send bug reports you choose to send. Dictated text is not uploaded to Astrolabe Tools servers.

No. Dictation history is stored locally in your browser. ClickMic does not send dictated text to Astrolabe Tools unless you deliberately include a snippet in a bug report.
ClickMic is built for Google Chrome on desktop. Support for other browsers may come later.

History is limited by storage size, not time. You can choose a local limit: 5, 10, 25, or 50 MB. When the limit is reached, ClickMic deletes the oldest entries not marked as favorites. Entries marked as favorites are protected and are not removed automatically.

Character Packs are optional mascot styles for the floating ClickMic button. Installed packs are cached locally on your device.
You can turn any saved entry into a reminder. ClickMic uses Chrome alarms and browser notifications — delivery depends on Chrome and your operating system notification settings.
Yes. You can export a single saved entry or your entire History to back up or use text outside the browser.
Speak in short phrases with brief pauses between them. ClickMic uses pauses to break text into sentences. You can edit text before copying or inserting it.
It is optional paid access after the trial, with checkout through Lemon Squeezy.
